Homer Zion Jr., CPA - Managing Partner
Homer is a founding partner of ZSA and holds a B.B.A in Accounting from Kent State University. He began his career with a regional accounting firm in Northeast Ohio in 1980, where he progressed from staff assistant to manager during his nine-year tenure. From 1988, until the founding of Zion, Synek and Associates in 1991, Homer was V.P. of Finance for an industrial metals commodities broker and dealer and started a metals distribution business. As V. P. of Finance, Homer gained a significant amount of experience in managing and operating private businesses. That experience including the previous aspects of public accounting, have served Homer well as a business and tax consultant in servicing the needs of small business owners.
Homer and his wife reside in Independence where he is an active member of his church, past Independence Kiwanis member, and has volunteered his time over the years coaching baseball and assisting the Independence High School music program where his children have been involved. He and his wife Debbie are parents of four. Kristen, Emily, Nathan and Geoffrey have all completed college with several receiving Masters Degrees.
In late 2014, Homer was inducted into the Bluecoats, Inc. of Cuyahoga County to serve those families of members of safety forces who lose their lives in the line of duty.
